Due to substantial community spread of COVID-19 in Calhoun County that is impacting availability of healthcare workers, safety of nursing home residents, daycare accessibility, and rapidly shrinking capacity for hospitals across the State, the Calhoun County Board of Health is directing all residents to increase preventive measures to help slow the spread of disease.
Therefore, all County residents are requested to do the following:
- Wear a mask in public
- Stay home if not feeling well
- Avoid large gatherings
- Socially distance at 6 feet or greater whenever possible
- Frequently wash hands
Furthermore, the Calhoun County Board of Health advises area schools to institute mask requirements for all students and staff and, if need be, consider temporarily moving to an online/hybrid format to help slow the spread.
The Board of Health also strongly urges that all businesses adopt the insistence that their customers wear masks before entering their facilities.
